What is Microblading?
Microblading is a type of eyebrow architecture. It is all about creating the best shape for each face, a totally bespoke approach for each client.
The process is very precise using a tool that is used which is like a pen with a sloped blade of about 7-12 little needles at the end. The needles don’t penetrate the skin but just delicately scratch the surface, much like a small paper cut!
The needle delicately embeds featherweight strokes with a carefully chosen pigment to suit your design on the top layer of the skin. Creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Microblading for me?
This technique is to add balance and correction where needed. It’s for a real looking brow with life like hair strokes.
Microblading, unlike tattooing, is not in the deep layer of skin, but more on the surface. This is also not permanent, and the colour fades within 18 months. The hair strokes are far more natural and finer than any tattoo, as a handheld needle/blade is used. There is no electrical gadget that penetrates deep in the skin. Therefore the sound is more of a scratching noise, rather than a buzz of a tattoo gun which pierces the skin so deeply.
If what your looking for is to add a natural finish to your brows, then microblading is for you!
What will they look like after my appointment?
After your initial appointment, expect your brows to scab over in the healing process for the first 2-5 days (depending on how you heal). You will be given aftercare treatment for your first 5 days to help keep the area hydrated. No makeup is to be worn directly on the brows for at least 10 days after.
After you've had your eyebrows microbladed, they will look much darker for around 5-7 days after the treatment. Your brows will lighten about 40-50% after the first week, resulting in natural hair like strokes that go unnoticed. Microblading can be done over an existing brow tattoo, however the old tattoo must be significantly faded for the hair strokes to show through and look natural.
How does long does it last for?
Once you have your initial microblading appointment, you must come back for an 8 week top up to reinforce the shape and colour of your brows. After your 8 week week top up the results in a brow could last anywhere from 8-12 months. (All skins varies!)
What happens after 8-12 months?! When you are ready, you will need to book in for your brow ‘Top up’ appointment. To ensure your brows are still on point, you will need to have them reinforced to keep them looking fresh!

Microblading Contraindications
If you have any of the following, please contact myself first before booking as you might not apply for microblading.
1) Those prone to keloids or post-inflammatory hypopigmentation. Unfortunately, since microblading punctures the skin as we add ink, we cannot work with clients with these conditions.
2) Diabetes (type 1) . Depending on the type and severity, a Medical clearance may be needed.
3) Are on blood-thinners. We recommend not to be on any blood thinners prior to your microblading procedure. If this is required by a physician DO NOT discontinue to take your medication. Speak with your artist about an alternative solution for your microblading appointment. Depending on the blood thinner and how frequently taken we may just suggest a different technique to give you still a beautiful result.
4) If you have an Auto-immune. We will need a medical clearance to perform the procedure.
5) If you’ve had Juvederm or other fillers in that area. Depending on the timing, we recommend to get microblading first! Otherwise, check with your doctor.
6) Patients undergoing chemotherapy. Although microblading is great for restoring eyebrows, we would require a doctor’s note in order to perform the procedure for anyone undergoing chemotherapy.
7) If you have any kind of skin condition on or near your eyebrows. This includes eczema, shingles, rashes, or anything else near eyebrows.
8) Those with a dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoo or permanent makeup. The tattoo or permanent makeup must be light enough for us to draw hairstrokes. We ask anyone with a previous eyebrow tattoo to send us an email with a picture of their eyebrows with no makeup on, so we can evaluate. Alternatively, if your image is not clear enough, please book an eyebrow consultation to Katie can review your current eyebrow state in person.
